Chapin B. Bouffard - Plug into Water: Generating Electricity through Electrokinetics

Objectives/Goals
The hypothesis of this project was if different types of salts were added to water, then there will be an
increase in the efficiency of generating electricity using the Kelvin Water Dropper.

Methods/Materials
500g of magnesium sulfate was added to 12.0L distilled water to make the magnesium solution. Also,
500g of sodium chloride was also added to 12.0L distilled water to make up the sodium solution. When
the tests were run, the water tank had to have the same amount of pressure for each trial in order to get
efficient results. Three trials were run for each solution with the following results:

When Jay Harman was a skinny 10-year-old swimming off the coral reefs of Australia's western coast, he had an insight that 37 years later would lead him to invent an industrial design that could change personal computing, aeronautics and how drinking water is purified.

As a nature-loving boy, the young Australian just wanted to swim faster, so he watched how fish moved through water and how seaweed undulated against the reef when a wave crashed.

The shape he noticed that day was a simple curve that fluidly formed into a spiral. From then on, Harman would see spirals as a common design in nature--in pinecones, whirlpools, a puff of smoke.

Now he believes spirals are a key to making a wide array of machines more energy-efficient. Through his 9-year-old company, Pax Scientific, he's trying to bring that natural form into the technological world. So far, he's invented industrial designs for fans, pumps and propellors that mimic the geometries of spiraling whirlpools. Experts believe these designs can reduce friction, wasted energy, noise and unwanted heat.

Zielsetzung
Hier wird die Konzeption eines Motors beschrieben, der nutzbare Kraft liefert ohne entsprechende Zufuhr von Energie - in herkömmlichem Sinne. Selbstverständlich kann keine Energie ´produziert´ werden, wohl aber kann vorhandene Energie für einen bestimmten Nutzen verwendet werden. Die hier genutzte Energie ist die Kraft der normalen molekularen Bewegung in einem Fluid.

Zunächst werden einige bekannte theoretische Überlegungen und Erkenntnisse angesprochen. In einem zweiten Teil werden einige Maschinen bekannter Erfindern dargestellt, die zumindest ansatzweise arbeiteten. Danach wird der entscheidende Effekt dieser Konzeptionen heraus gearbeitet. Basierend auf diesen Prinzipien sind wirkungsvolle Maschinen in vielerlei Ausführung zu realisieren. Einige Varianten davon werden hier vorgestellt.

Richard Clem's rotational engine

Although I do not have any information on Clem or his device, I would like to comment on the principle of operation, which seems quite simple and straightforward to who has studied the writings of Viktor Schauberger, the Austrian naturalist and inventor.

Indeed Schauberger was working with vortex action in liquids (especially in water) and was finding effects that were at the time, and are still now, unexplainable with the normal principles of physics or thermodynamics.

As far as I understand the engine made by Clem was built around a cone with spiralling channels cut into it and when a liquid, in that particular case vegetable oil, got pressed through the channels, they caused the cone to turn and at a certain point the flow of the liquid and the turning of the cone became self-sustaining, up to the point of putting out a good and heavy (350 HP for a 200 pound engine) power output.

Intention My intention ( to the best of my ability ) is to remove some of the mystery, secrets, guesswork and plain misinformation that surrounds the construction of the " cell ". The aim is to help the constructor make a cell in a laid out, step by step, method that I employ to make my own cells. My knowledge comes from making the cells. As I have built many working cells, this experience has given me the knowledge, not by guesswork or reading someone's book or listening to second or third hand " expert " opinions. I now pass this information on to you. and it will always stay as my opinion and information until you build your own cell. Only then will you know how to make a cell, and not before!

Joe In approximately 1992 a new form of a generator was constructed in Australia. In preparation for this book, I spoke to both the designer and his fiancee, regarding my wish to give him the due credits, etc., for his 7 years of work and cooperation with all involved parties. Unfortunately due to the lunatic fringe and money grabbers that dealt with him, this poor, victimised individual has decided to relinquish any further involvement with the cell that bears his name. So in respect to his wishes, he will simply be referred to as Joe. I would simply like to say, dear Joe, that if it was not for rare individuals like you, we the vast brainwashed majority, would never find the true beauties of Mother Nature's gifts.

It is now probably to late to save Mother Earth from the years of pollution and desecration caused by the thoughtless money-grabbing multinationals. As a species, we are unique. Even a little simple bird keeps its nest clean, yet we the most intelligent of creation, destroy our only home! Yet, individuals like Joe show us that there is a better way, a simple pure way, Nature's way. Without the benefit(?) of years of dogmatic mind shrinking education, Joe found, by intuition, how to ask Nature a question in such a way that it answered. The answer was a method of powering machinery without the use of our primary resources or the creation of pollution. This method is well known to the select few and the technology has been around for centuries. Joe has made a crude easy to build version of this generator. The generator is called a Joe cell.

In the early 1900's, Dr. T. Henry Moray of Salt Lake City produced his first device to tap energy from the metafrequency oscillations of empty space itself. Eventually Moray was able to produce a free energy device weighing sixty pounds and producing 50,000 watts of electricity for several hours. Ironically, although he demonstrated his device repeatedly to scientists and engineers, Moray was unable to obtain funding to develop the device further into a useable power station that would furnish electrical power on a mass scale.
