1929-09-22: Nikola Tesla tells of new radio theories - Does Not Believe in Hertz Waves and Heaviside Layer, Interview Discloses

The model of a "Tesla Coil" which will be featured in the historic exhibit of the radio show reawakens interest in its inventor.

It is not generally appreciated that this curious apparatus, often associated with pretty or spectacular demonstrations of high voltage electricity, is really a fundamental part of modern radio. For all the tuning apparatus and circuits in every transmitting and receiving set are simply variations of Tesla coils and Tesla coil circuits.

Few people visit the Royal Institution, in London's Albemarle Street, for amusement. There are not many laughs at Britain's second oldest scientific institution, founded in 1799, where Sir Humphry Davy demonstrated his discovery of the elements sodium and potassium and where Michael Faraday discovered electromagnetic induction. It's true there have been some lighter moments in the famous circular lecture theatre, especially since Sir William Bragg introduced Christmas Lectures for Children in the 1920s. But, on the whole, this is stuffed shirt territory.

One of the greatest energies in the universe is the force of gravitation. The power potential of this force exceeds atomic energy and produces no deadly gamma rays in the process. During this century, Thomas Townsend Brown probably came closest to tapping the potential of this free and boundless energy. Brown realized early on that mankind's use of power in jet- and rocket-propelled vehicles is a "sledge and hammer" approach to gaining high-speed, high-altitude flight. Engineers have increased vehicle thrust significantly, but the gain in speed and power is marginal when compared to the energy expended. Is brute rocket force the best way to reach the stars? Brown didn't think so (

Henry Ford Museum Buckminster Fuller Dymaxion House Exhibit

FAQ:

Why is the Dymaxion House made of aluminum?

This was the newest of the alloys at the time and was strong and light enough to be easily disassembled and moved. Bucky wanted his houses to be mass-produced, easily shipped, hygienic, and able to stand up to a Kansas tornado. Aluminum provided for all of these criteria and was already used on the aircraft assembly lines, allowing for easy transition after the war from airplane production to Dymaxion House production.

Introduction
[ 4th Edition ]

RADIANT ENERGY --- The term Moray has used to describe that source of energy coming from the cosmos to earth and radiating from the earth back from whence it came. This is the energy the Moray device captures and could be described as those particles of energy pervading all space. In the evolution of energy and the evolution of matter these particles of matter and energy (one and the same) manifest under certain conditions as pure energy and under others as pure matter. Radiant Energy from the cosmos, like radiant particles of matter, being composed of an infinitesimal quantity whose behaviors are described by mathematical equations similar to those used for describing electrical waves, keeping in mind to differentiate between wavelength and frequency. Radiant Energy is particles of energy, just as light is wavelengths and particles are comparable to the electron and magneton: a ring of negative electricity traveling in a vortex with the speed of light, streams of energy quanta, each quantum having energy and momentum where the electron revolves around the proton at a distance equal to the electron radius.

To summarize: Radiant Energy as herein used is that energy existing in the luminiferous medium of the universe, kinetic and exercised in wave transmission and rendered sensible by conversion of its energy into a detectable frequency. In the final analysis, Radiant Energy is a means of using the energy released by the fissionable reactions taking place in the stellar crucibles of the universe.
